John 12:26

“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”

In this chapter, Jesus presents to us a ‘Fruitful Grain of Wheat.’ In this, the wheat represents our lives with Jesus. Those who hate their lives, deny themselves, serve Christ with a purpose, will gain an eternity. But those who will live, loving there life, who serve only themselves, deny the cross,  will have no part in God's kingdom. What exactly does denying yourself look like, and what is this kingdom that Jesus talks about ? Philippians 2:5 tells us “ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made ‘Himself of no reputation,’ taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”
Jesus Christ emptied Himself out, to the last drop. Not that He no longer had authority as God but He now had relation with His children. We could no longer say “ God doesn't know what i'm going through. God doesn't know what it feels like..” Jesus knew every single bit of suffering and more because on that cross, he suffered for past, present, and future sins. Do i know what it's like to suffer? Do i know what it's like to be poured out? Definitely not like jesus
The kingdom Jesus talks about in John 14:3 is known to all believers,  “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” However, if I don't serve and follow,  then i won't be served and honored
I think about my time here at Ignite. It's been a “hassle and a half,” nevertheless, it's something that God called me to do. Denying everything going on back home wasn't necessarily the easiest thing, but it's something that the Lord calls us all to do. It requires faith, obedience, and humility. Things that were not necessarily the sharpest but are being sharpened
