Romans 4:17

“(as it is written, ‘I have made you a father of many nations’) in the presence of Him whom he believed- God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” Romans 4:17

The promises of God seem so distant to us. We read the story of Abraham and it feels as though it happened yesterday, Like he inhaled and instantaneously he was made the father of faith we all read about. But that's false. They too, were distant to him. They too were hard to grasp and became a blur. God would tell him to look up at the stars and He would whisper, “Abraham, as many as you see, so shall your descendants be.” You dont think Abraham cried, laughed and became overjoyed in that moment.. to than loose hope and doubt? To then look up at that very same sky and think “So many stars, and my wife Lord she's old, how can she give birth God?” To get to that point of being overwhelmed, comparing God's promises to what you think, it takes abandoning one's own mindset.
But God.The same man who lacked faith in that moment became the father of faith in another. Abraham had no vision, to then see the lord fulfill His promise, his vision and faith were both strengthened and restored. He believed. The Lord spoke to Abraham the way He did, because, it was accomplished before the Lord spoke the earth into existence. Abraham did have a son, Abraham was exceedingly fruitful and became the father of many nations. Abraham doubted but he was counted as righteous.

As children of God, He has spoken His sweet smelling promises to us all. What He speaks has already been accomplished! I mean how amazing is that? We doubt because we don't see the whole picture, and the process of getting to where He is calling us seems way too hard. God doesn't have to tell you a flower is going to grow and what the process is. Knowing the process of that flower takes knowledge, you've read it and believe it. However, when God calls you, by name, and tells you what and how you will grow, why do we waver? And by the way, “a flower doesn't bloom in every season.” Gods promises are true, they give life, and and it is done. What He has proclaimed is oradined, and nothing can change that. Not time, not man, and certainly not the enemy. The promises of God seem distant to us, but it is accomplished.
